I have matric and have studied Human Resource Management at Jeppe college of Commerce and Computer Studies and also studied Health and Safety at Nosa. I did my practicals at Africa Safety where i was given the opportunity to learn more about the Health and Safety industry and learn how to deal with the situations i am going to be working with every day. I was given the chance to conduct my own incident investigation, fall protection plans and HIRA. I mostly enjoyed talking with the workers to understand how they view the environment they are working in and to get their complains and things they are happy about. I encouraged them to always put their safety first even when they know that they have beeb doing a certain job for years.

Pros: What i mostly like about Health and Safety is that it doesnt allow you to rest because each and every day you are going to learn something new, new legislations are amended time and time again and as a health and safety officer i have to always be ready for new challenges and always be ready to learn and grow.
Cons: People have the mentality that because they have been doing a certain job for years it assures them that nothing bad will happen as they master what they are doing and forget that an incident can happen at anything no matter the experience you have in the company.

Pros: Great opportunity to grow and gain a wide range of knowledge.
Cons: Very hot offices
