Exellent experience and learning curve
Its been a a learning curve being with AEL. I have gained a lot of experience and it has given me more understanding of the course that im studying(chemical engineering). I trained and passed out as an operator then trained as a DCS process controller to learn how to run the plant on panel. I have worked well with the team here and it helped me enhance my communication and interpersonal skills. I enjoy the challenges of this job as it has groomed me to handle pressure better than before.
Pros: Great platform for chemical engineers
Cons: Long working hours

It was goog learning experience for me
Am currently unemployed, but I have once worked for department of Agricultural here in Modimolle and worked for ael company in rustenburg it was a great good experience for me. in Agricultural there since the job was office and the field work it was great, hard and good at the same time more especially when it comes to time management and working with others as a team cause you can't manage a big live stock alone. we have to work as a team and listen and taking the instruction from the elderly ones. since they have more experience working with live stock. I have learnt that I might be educated but the experience that they have its too big than my education. In ael to listen and to be focused not to forget what I have been told, write down every message I got that has helped me a lot to be a good administrator.
Pros: A friendly environment place but working very hard and cooperative.
Cons: Sometimes.

Having to work as a Process Controller
The Process i am currently running its quite sensitive and considered a Major Hazard Installation. I get along with almost everyone i work with. Some co-workers are a bit difficult as we all have different personalities and different approaches to life but we manage to deliver results at the end of the day. I Have learnt a lot inn this plant to mention a few, I now have a good understanding of the refrigeration process and the explosive industry , I have also learned some things out of my trade which is the instrument and mechanical side of things as i am the one who normally reports deviations from the process if i cannot rectify it myself. I enjoy Solving problems i face each day and working with different people from time to time. The Most Challenging thing about this Job is having to think on your feet and you need to be accurate.
Pros: Having work to with different external customers and also learning while at it, Exposure of different processes.
Cons: Long Working Hours and there is no growth or a great opportunity of promotion

Valuable experience
My daily job routine include vast majority of tasks, ranging from On the job training and facilitation; Mentoring; after sales services; problem finding and solving. Education clients on our products and services; proposal for latest and effective products and services. All of the above adds valuable skills to myself. Team playing is the center for our daily tasks which is the most value learnt. The most challenging aspect of performing my duties is that I am basically doing every task even those that do not fall within my jurisdiction. this is due to going out of my way to satisfying clients.
Pros: challenging tasks, each day comes with different one. Very interesting.
Cons: No development due to being a contractor.

Work relationship
It is a great company to work for, excellent benefits but you only get the benefits if you permant. I would really love to be part of the company but chances are very slim and I'm willing to have a stable life like any human being, i have been a contractor since I joined the company and sad part is that I'm still earning the same amount of money yet lot of things have changed rent, transport money and renewing contracts every six months it's stressful I feel like I'm standing in one position. I need to grow, I need to see a change in my life.
Pros: No there is no promotion
Cons: 12 hours per shift

Good learning curve
Work day include Managing the running of Extrusion Lines producing initiation products for use in mining industry. Have been working with my co-workers for a number of years and have built up a good relationship with them. Learnt a lot about Extrusion Lines and the manufacturing of explosive products and the issues around safety in producing such products. Learnt a lot about the processes in the manufacturing of these products. Challenge is to ensure that production targets are met with safety in mind and Good quality.
Pros: Salary and bonuses are good
Cons: Long working hours, continuous shifts.

Excellent
It is a very good company to work for and wish they had permanent vacant position, unfortunately they going through section 189 that is why they could not keep me. I would have loved to work permanently for them.

Best explosives manufacturer in the world with the best after market service and safety record
One of the best companies I've worked for in my career but the executives have their own culture. The company is very racist against white people. Even if you are the best at what you do, a college black kid with only admin as background, comes to tell you how to do your job as an expert
