Managing a Team of 16 buyers and ensuring compliance to policies, procedures and legislation. Approval of recommendations to award tenders and approvals on Oracle for pruchase orders. Attend internal stakeholder meetings to develop turnaround strategies and policies amendments in line with legislation amendments. Mentoring, motivating and training employees daily. Conflict management among my Team and the internal and external stakeholders. Change management and implementation and compliance management of RFQ at 9 airports. Identify commodities and group them by commodity and developing project timelines for formal contracts to reduce on RFQ processes and reduction in possible irregular expenditure. Professional and interactive daily relationship with co-workers and I have gained more of intrapersonal and interpersonal skills. Most challenging experience was to operate with resource shortage and unexpected empowerment skill level of buyers.

Great place to learn
I work in a dynamic and volatile environment. I am in the Corporate Affairs department and I coordinate internal and external events for O.R. Tambo International. I have the privilege to work with 1300 staff. I organize staff engagement sessions, staff parties, woman and men’s forums, media conferences and other adhoc events for the airport. The most beautiful part about the job is that one has the room to explore creative ways of executing an events. I would give support assistance to our GM’s office on ministerial visit to the airport. The business is a 24 hours business and one had to learn to organise events that accommodate shift workers. Communication right on time with our staff is also very important. The airport space has a lot of stakeholders and this roles was afforded me to engage with different stakeholders as they are very important to our business. I enjoy the challenges it presents. There is so much to learn and one is exposed to a lot of opportunities.
Pros: The work environment allows ones to be themselves and thrive.
Cons: One gets too engaged with the current space that you limited yourself within your comfort zone.

Contract
My duties at ACSA as n IT Field Engineer are: Support User relating to software and hardware, build Laptop and Desktop, configure emails on Tablets, Wi-Fi network, 3G, Log calls and assign to vendor, Make follow up, 1st line and 2nd line Support, monitoring of servers, Flight Information Display. Good working relationship with my boss, and colleagues. I have learnt different types of leadership, communication skills. I have enjoyed the moment where i was doing the projects of migrating windows Xp to Windows 7 and join them to the domain and move them to correct OU. that was the moment i have enjoyed the most. The most challenging aspect of the job is to work shift.

Perfect industry for growth
I actually enjoyed working at acsa as it is a very big profit generating company,you actually get to know more about many cultures surrounding us in the entire WORLD,you get to understand people better and know how to calm down certain types of tempers,they also give you an opportunity to further your education when made permanent.the only challenge I had was having to deal with illegal porters but either than that my job was perfect.what I loved most show we treated each other with my colleagues,we were like family including the others companies within the airport

Excellent industry to work for
It was a learning curve to work with the company as it taught me so many things under different challenging environment. I obtained a lot of qualifications with the organization initiatives, I have a Diploma in Safety Management that I acquired through company bursary support. My co-workers were excellent to work with, they make a working environment easy. The challenging aspect of it was to work in an outside environment where we have to brave our self under all kinds of weather. And have to attend to incidents in a wet weather.
Pros: There's great opportunity for promotion at the company as I joined the company in the year 2010 as a Security officer, then in 2013 I was elected to be a SHE rep, then in 2017 July was nominated to work as a Crime controller within the organization. In April 2018 was appointed as A safety compliance officer.
Cons: I work 12 hours a day, with four days in and four days off shifts

Excellent learning curve
I have a lot during this years of experience, Health & Safety has been first priority, Working with amazing team I always enthusiastic / looking forward to over come any challenges. I will always make sure that the work place is safety and employees are not exposed to any hazards , teach them the important of safety of theirs and others next to them. Conduct inspections, record any near miss. Held monthly meetings to discuss the possible measures to be put in place inorder to minimize the risks, and what changes should be done, after all the safety of our stakeholders, public and passengers are important. Me and team will make a walk around to check the working place and that every one is complying with policy and procedures. It is sometimes a challenge when you teach or brings some changes within the environment but me and my team we will make sure of why is important for that particular change.
Pros: Great environment but many people eyeing one or two positions
Cons: Hours exceeding normal working hours

Excellent opportunity
. to modernise and leverage digital technologies to improve services at the various sites I have a good relationship with functions and have leant a lot about the aviation business and how it functions as there are many stakeholders and dependency on 3rd party to deliver service.
Pros: great opportunities grow organisation revenues
Cons: Lack of strategy and vision and no clear understanding .
