Great stepping stone

Working at absolute pets is good because you get to interact with people everyday . It's based on pet care and we get to interact with pets as well . We always have a great clientele as we sometimes know the pet names . I have a great relationship with my co-workers because we always help each other even with making recommendations to customers , we push ourselves into achieving our monthly target . I have learnt so much from this company . The number one training that's always emphasized is customer service , I have learnt how to work well under pressure , I have learnt how to manage a store since I'm responsible for stock ordering , stock management , staff and training . I have learnt to strategize when it comes to sales . What I enjoy the most is to see a happy customer after being able to fill the needs of their pet . The challenging aspect is that being a team leader comes with a lot of pressure because you are responsible for everything in the store . It all becomes easier if you have a great team .

Pros: Great opportunity to learn , you don't focus on one thing you focus on administration, stock management , sales , packing and merchandising and staff training and development . We are not limited

Me

Working at a pet/vet store has been a great experience and it was a learning curve for since I got into a new environment with different techniques and. It has been nothing but eye opening about certain things that I didn't know before, however the time for me to start something new has arrived. Everyone I worked with was great and accommodating, however I feel I don't need to be in this environment as it is demanding and the whole lot of work as a person you put in is not taken to consideration.

Cons: Long hours and weekends also holidays

Their customer service is great

Apart from their great service, Absolute Pets is a gI can't see what I am typing. Please make sure we can see what we typing. Right now I'm just guessing. Absolute Pets is a good place to be especially if you are still studying because their hours are reasonable. Their great customer service is out of this world and their staff is so friendly. reat place to start your career especially if you love animals

No 2 days are the same

My day consist of finding new ways to market our product to stay ahead of trends , no 2 days are the same , maybe 1 day i will in the office all day doing research and the next i will be out putting up promotional visuals in stores or sources materials for an upcoming event. I have a good relationship with my co-workers i am always cracking a jokes but still work really hard. Being at this company i learnt something that i suppose i always knew , but i think sometimes you just need a reminder and that is that you can do anything you but your mind to. What enjoy most about my job is when i get to go out to the stores and interact with the staff and customers.

Pros: I got to learn
Cons: no room to grow.

Hard worker, loyal to company, good comunicator, work well in a team, honest, reliable

Tipical day at work, placing orders, store opening reports, house keeping, merchandising, receiving stock, sails, giving advice to clients, transfering stock between stores, cashup and store closing, I get along with most people that I work with. I learn to upsell to client by pointing out the benifits. I learn how the system work. What I enjoy the most is the stock orders, receiving stock and to talk to clients, giving them advice. The most challenging aspect of my coureer at the moment is to get to know the system even better, still a few things that I need to get under the belt.

Pros: Shorter working hours during the week, comission based, oppertunity to learn new skills
Cons: Long working hours on weekends, no benifits, no oppertunity for growth

Great to learn from with the different types of foods and brands

They love giving warnings for every little thing. Don't pay overtime. You don't get paid double for public holidays and Sunday's. Short staffed always. So it's hard if you sick and need to be booked off. They have no one to cover your shift..commission is a joke. Got to sell alot of things in one sale to make a R14 commission.

Pros: Only work 180hrs a month. So you work half days. Eg:8-2 &2-7
Cons: No double pay for public holidays and Sunday's. No lunch breaks. Short staffed. Hard to get leave. You get warnings for every little thing.

An Excellent learning curve

amA normal day at absolute pets, including counting both floats to make sure their balance in yhe morning,filling up a Covid19 test on the company’s site as soon as possible, looking through emails responding to customers or head office, making orders and checking the delivery dates. Assisting customers on the floor with any enquiries, ring up sales and doing some admin. This company thought me alot about admin work, different type of domestic animals products which was essential when it came to assisting a customer who got a pet for their first time. I built amazing friendships with my Co-workers and manager. d manager.
