Good way of starting a career

The co workers can be difficult to work with at times but most of them are friendly and makes the job easier by assisting where I need help. I learnt a lot about technical things and most of all I learnt a lot on the maintenance department. I learnt about installation and commission of DC machines. How to do fault finding on a machine panel. I also learnt about quality control and how to work with people. On the process of learning the things mentioned above I realized that when I put my mind into something the outcomes will be a success. In a period of one year I was able to learn a lot to show how dedicated I was to my work. I enjoyed challenging myself by fixing what seems to be out of my league. The most challenging part was when I had to work with other departments as a team, The problem was that other people from other departments were not dedicated to their work as I was so it makes difficult for me because I had to push them.

Pros: Opportunity of learning
Cons: under paying

Great opportunity for growth

When I started with the company I was doing a Business Administration Learnership then was offered a position as a Human Capital Administrator. At first the job was challenging but when time went by I started being familiar with HR. Currently I take part of the duties of a HC Officer because we do not have one. Also enrolled with DUT in obtaining a HR Diploma and this year it is my second year. I also work well with my co-workers and have learn't how to formulate charges which is still on-going, conduct PPA, liaising with Fund Administrators in regard to withdrawals, death claims/resolution etc. What I enjoy most about my job is discipline, engaging with people and being able to assist employees with an query or assistance that they may require.

Pros: Growth/Career Development
Cons: Currently the situation in our company is not good due to the economy.
